Malaysian International Fireworks Competition 2008

Luckily the weather was clear when we arrived Putrajaya last night around 8.45pm.
We parked the car by roadside and walked towards the crowd.
Seriuosly I don't know which direction to capture the fireworks, I just followed the people :p

When I saw some people getting ready with their tripods and cameras at certain spots, I was pretty sure that they have came here before during previous days competition and they knew the perfect spot to watch the fireworks.
We settled at the small open area beside Jambatan Seri Saujana.
It was windy and we have great time waiting while munching some snacks :p

The show began at 10pm sharp.
The crowd started to cheer when they saw the first glimpse of fireworks 'shooting' up into the sky just above the PICC (Putrajaya International Convention Centre).

Overall, our chosen spot was ok, just that we were not able to see those lower range fireworks and of course we can't hear the music + can't feel the impact very well as we were far from the lauching spot.

Beginning part of the show.
You will be able to see smiley face and flower pattern of fireworks.

Time to show you some pictures :)
The following pictures were with 'hand-shaking effects' haha coz I didn't use the tripod.
I was standing and holding my hands up to capture these pictures.

Actually my hand didn't really shake lor, just that in order ot take a nice pictures, you need to be extra steady or use a tripod under this circumstance.

Why so many letter R? Somemore upside down geh?

Haha somehow I think these 'not-so-clear' pictures show me another type of beautiness of the fireworks :D

Classic fireworks pattern.

Coconut trees flying in the sky!

More coconut trees, this time with two balls attached ;)

Lots of spiders crawling in the sky... Eerie...

Distorted pattern :p

Okay enough of these 'hand-shaking' effects pictures.
Pardon me.

I started to get some nice pictures after that.
I was squating when I took the following pictures.
Perhaps this reduced the hand shake and I managed to get clearer pictures.

This is fabulous (I personally think la :p)

The middle part of the show.
Click the video and have a look of the Sunflower-pattern fireworks.

More fireworks.

And more...

Awesome!

The core of the two fireworks in the middle is so intense.

You know the show is going to end soon when you see all this big big fireworks coming out
non-stop.

Final 20 seconds of the show.

After the show ended, we were caught in the traffic.
A 30-minute show took us 4 hours back and flow.

From Stockholm to London

02.10.2007
Tuesday

Today, we are going to another city in another country.

London, here I come :)

The picture below was taken the morning before I left for London.
I like the autumn feel, yellowish leaves all around.
When I returned to Stockholm 2 months later, the tree has gone bald.

We take the airport bus from Stockholm city area to Skavsta Airport.
The journey is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Sceneries along the journey.

Picture below show the classical Swedish buildings - colourful outlook.

Then, it is the Posten building.
Posten is the name of the Swedish postal service. The word "posten" means "the post" or "the mail" in Swedish. (Extracted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posten_(Sweden))

Follow by IKEA in its home ground.

Skavsta Airport.
Looks abit 'simple' to me, just like a big warehouse.
But it's functioning very well.
Ryanair is the airline that we are taking to London.

We arrived at Stansted airport and queued for quite some time to pass through the immigration.
The officer asked me many questions.
If my mum is not travelling with me, I think he will ask even more.

From Stansted airport, we took a bus to Straford followed by tube to Leicester Square (China Town).
We want to EAT.
We settled in a restaurant named 阳城.
It is own by Malaysian if I am not mistaken.

Again, my favorite combination of meat - roasted duck and roasted pork.

Strangely, I didn't enjoy this plate of mee very well.
Partly becoz we were too hungry liao. When we settle down and have dinner, it was almost 10PM.
You know sometimes, if you have starved for quite some time and when you finally can have some food, you don't feel like eating anymore.
Maybe it was also becoz of my high expectation (this mee from this restaurant was S's favorite) and it turned out to be not as tasty as i expected.

Anyway, enough of this mee thingy.
After dinner, I can't wait to go to S's flat. I am going to see it with my own eyes the place that S lived and it's also the place that I am going to stay during my days at London.
Both mum and I were so tired as we have been travelling for whole day.
We just want to take a nice bath and have a good rest.

with London entries coming soon...

European Jewels - Day 2 - Part 2

Continue from previous entry...

13.10.2008
Saturday

Still strolling around Amsterdam, Holland.

I kind of like this shop lor and I wanted to go in and have a look.
I didn't of course and you know why (Yes my mum is with me mar :p)
Maybe next time if I have a shop, I can also name it as 'I Love You', easy to remember and catchy Muahaha

I can't understand why a fun fair is set up in front of the Royal Palace.
To me, it is not appriopriate and not match lor, like two different thing with different style are being put together.

My mum preferred to have Chinese food, she wanted rice and soup.
So we have to look for a Chinese restaurant.
This was the restaurant that we settled down for our lunch.

And this is the rice that we ordered.
My favorite.
Roasted pork and roasted duck meat rice.

Yummy :)
Now, I can truly appreciate the fact that people said the second best place to have Chinese food in Europe is at Amsterdam (the first is at London).

How can we miss the famous clogs.
Left - classical wooden clogs
Right - plush clogs (more comfy I suppose)

The windmill that we crave for.
Straight away jump off the coach when we were allowed to go nearer and take pictures for 5 minutes.
Yes the sun is out now, I am glad that the weather is not gloomy and cloudy like what we have early in the morning.
A sunny day is the best for nice and bright pictures.

In the afternoon, we travelled south to Rhineland area, Germany for overnight.
We arrived in the evening and dinner was provided at the hotel.

Look at what we have.
A piece of fillet, some fries and vegetables (both for four people) and bread.
You have to pay for own drinks. #%^$&*@ Why water is not free?

The dinner was not fullfillling and we waited very long for our food.

Dessert.
Quite nice to have ice-cream in such cold weather.

My look of the day.

Tired after a long day.

Again, straight away went to bed after taking bath.
We need to rest well in order to enjoy our journey tomorrow :)

Stay tune and

Home

HOME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PLACE IN THE WORLD :)

I couldn't agree more with the statement.

Home is the only place that we want to head to after a tiring day.
Even if it is a day with full of joy, we will also go back to our home at the end of the day.

It is so important to have a home with people that you love and love you ;)

European Jewels - Day 2 - Part 1

13.10.2007
Saturday

Amsterdam, Holland -> Rhineland, Germany

Every morning, we have to wake up very early throughout the 10-days trip.
I was reluctant to leave the bed coz I am a person who can't fall asleep easily.
By the time I manage to sleep soundly, it's almost time to wake up already! $#^&*@

Anyway, this is the second day of our trip, we are feeling excited.

Before we can start the sightseeing, we have to take our breakfast :)
Let's see what greet us early in the morning. What a nice food tray Haha
However, we didn't really enjoy our meal and 慢慢吃 (eat slowly) coz we are having tight schedule (everyday need to wake up early, fast fast take breakfast, gather, board the coach and start the journey).

First glimpse of the canal. We are waiting for the canal cruise.
Apparantly, we were too early (apalah, instead of waiting here, should have given us more time to enjoy our breakfast mar) and we have to wait for our cruise tour guide to come with his cruise.

Scenery along the cruise.
It is an early morning, the sun is not out yet and the sky seems gloomy and cloudy.

Boat house along the canal.

Note the beautiful boat house.
According to the tour guide, it's not cheap to have a such nice boat house.
I think he said this one cost a million (Euro probably).
Forgive me if I am giving wrong information, I can't remember well :p

The 'Seven Sisters' building.
Seven building sticking together just like good sisters :)

The wooden 'door' for these windows are very special.
Cute!

Sex museum wor, I wonder how it is inside.
Ok i didn't manage to go in coz my mother is with me.
Next time I will pay a visit if she is not travelling with me :p

One of the very few windmill that can be seen in the city area.

Open toilet for the guys.
But i didn't see anyone using it.
Will they ever urinate in the public?

European Jewels - Day 1

12.10.2007
Friday

London, England -> Dover, England -> Calais, France -> Amsterdam, Holland

Our journey kicked off from London, we travelled by a coach from Russell Square to Dover.
The journey took about two and a half hour.

And you know what, I was crying for the first half an hour (and also everytime when I wrote a sms or received sms from S).

Why ah? I was missing S so dearly, eventhough we were just going to be apart for 10 days. My tears just rolled down uncontrollably. At the same time, I was trying to be very quiet, not making any sound and kept wiping my tears.

My mum was sitting beside me, she must have noticed it but she just kept quiet.
Thinking back now the scenario, I was so silly haha :p

Here we go, arriving at the Port of Dover. We are going to cross the English Channel by ferry.

While waiting to board the ferry, we bought Burger King's onion rings to fill our stomach.
The paper bag - The Simpsons Movie was special and I kept it.

The ferry company that we went for was P&O ferries. There are also some other ferries company that provide the channel crossing service.

We were given the ticket before boarding and they collected the ticket when we board the ferry.
Hehe that's why I took a picture of the ticket before I returned it.

The ferry's name - Pride of Kent.

Oh and again I was crying when I was on board, so I wasn't in mood to take pictures in the ferry :s

After about one and a half hour on board, we arrived Calais, France.

We continued our journey to Amsterdam by coach.
We passed by Belgium on the way to Holland from France.
So in just one day, we were in the land of England, France, Belgium and Holland :)

Nothing much to do in the coach, all that I did is to watch the sceneries outside the window and listen to music.

It's wonderful just to watch the colour change of the sky :)

4.23PM

5.57PM

6.22PM

Dinner time. We stopped by a motorway restaurant for our first dinner of the trip, by own cost.
That was the first time we were using Euros (and throughout the journey, we are going to use Euros). We started to have an idea about the price of food. I think it's pricey!

About 9PM, we finally arrived our hotel at Amsterdam.
Ibis Amsterdam airport.
The hotel is nice.

We straight away unpacked our bags, only to take out stuff that we need for tonight and for the following day. Can't afford to take out all the stuff coz we are going to another hotel at another country tomorrow!

Opps what a mess :p

Time to sleep. We need energy for tomorrow's sightseeing around Amsterdam :)

于众不同 The Special One

俗语说:“万绿丛中一点红”。

这张照片所表达的却是“万红丛中一点绿”! 大自然的奥妙哦 :)

摄于15.11.2007 @ Green Park, London.

A green leaf alone with yellow leaves all around it.
I didn't purposely arrange the leaves in such a way oh.
I was strolling along the park, saw it and snapped it ;)
This is the beauty of the mother earth.

Statue at Tallinn

A statue @ Tallinn, Estonia.

You can feel how loving the two people are through this piece of art.
I can't read and don't understand the description though :p
This is my own interpretation. They are a loving, intimate couple, both spiritually and physically. That's the highest level a couple can achieve, I think.

There are also other statues scatter around the park. I don't know exactly the name of the park. This park is located around the Tallinn Old Town, just beside the main gate entrance.

This is what I like about Europe. Arts are everywhere.
I love strolling around and allow myself to blend into the atmosphere :)
